NTA NET Introduction
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges.
The UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode w.e.f. December 2018 onwards.

Scheme of test
It is conducted in Twice every year – in the month of June & Dec. The Test will consist of two papers. All the two papers will have only objective type questions of the following forms:
(a) Multiple Choice
(b) Matching
(c) Assertion and Reasoning
(d) True and False
| Paper – I: General Paper | 50 Questions two marks each | 03 hours (180 minutes) without any break. All the questions are compulsory. |
| Paper – II: Specific Subject | 100 Questions two marks each |
The questions in Paper I intends to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the Candidate.
The Subject specific exam is used to assess the applicant’s knowledge of the subject for which he or she applied.
Candidates who pass both papers can apply for Junior research fellowship (JRF) and are deemed eligible for recruitment as Asst. Professors of the Universities and Colleges of NE Region.

NTA NET 2022 Dec exam Application Fees
The application fee for NTA NET Notification 2022 Dec exam is:
General Category: Rs. 1,100/-
OBC (Non-creamy layer) and General (EWS): Rs. 550/-
For SC/ST/PWD/third Gender: Rs. 275/-
NTA NET 2022 Dec exam Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for NTA NET Notification 2022 Dec exam is as follows:
a) Applicants must have a Master’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
b) Candidates in the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
c) The minimum marks required in Master Degree examination is 55% for general category candidates including EWS and 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
d) Candidates who have completed their qualification through distance/correspondence mode are also eligible to appear for the NTA NET exam.
e) Candidates with M. Phil degree or equivalent are also eligible to apply.
f) Candidates with a Ph.D. degree are eligible for direct recruitment.
g) There is no upper age limit for eligibility for applying for Assistant Professors.
